James Nitsui

I was born in Tofino, B.C and spent the first 16 years of my life in Ucluelet, B.C. At 16 I left Ucluelet to play competitive ice hockey. During that time I lived in various places including Vancouver Island, the Okanagan and the Kootneys. In 2000 I moved to Edmonton, AB to play hockey at Grant MacEwan College and start my Bachelors of Education and Bachelors of Physical Education.

That was the year that I also started in the Irrigation industry. For the next six summers I worked for Green Thumb Irrigation in Edmonton under two very experienced professionals. Both mentors had been in the industry for over 25 years each and were gracious enough to pass on their knowledge and expertise. In my last 3 years for Green Thumb Irrigation I was the top service technician and was designing and installing new systems.

In 2006 I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelors of Education and a Bachelors of Physical Education. After that summer my wife Candice, my daughter Kayla and I moved to Kelowna to be closer to family. In the summer of 2007 I followed my passion and started Green Thumb Irrigation in Kelowna and in the spring of 2008 I purchased Westview Irrigation and Landscaping.

My main focus and approach for Westview Irrigation is building strong relationships with my customers while providing them with prompt service and a top quality product. I am continually educating myself so I can be at the cutting edge of both the irrigation and landscaping sector.
